New models of protein ligand screening
To search for truly innovative drugs among the wealth of known biological targets new models of protein ligand screening are needed. An overview of the use of zonal, frontal, and nonlinear chromatography with immobilized proteins will be given. The association of these elution modes with ligand fishing method, which uses anomagnetics particles, will also be addressed. Furthermore, examples of these new strategies to determine function, affinity, and activity parameters of proteins will be presented.
